The best and the most professional assistance I could have gotten on a last-minute call on a late Saturday evening.
Some background: I am in a 50+ unit condo in Los Angeles, and my unit was showing some discoloration in the porous kitchen tiles on one night. An emergency water mitigation team was brought in to demo the kitchen in order to expose the wall and flooring to locate the source of the leak the next morning. In order for the demo team that had arrived earlier that next day (and subsequently had to leave) to continue their work to locate the cause, most likely in the shared/common walls, I needed to replace a bad angle stop valve in the hot water supply line in my kitchen so that the water could be shut off in my unit. Because it services hot water, frequently the rubber gasket inside corrodes and needs to be replaced.
Unfortunately, the condo operates on a master water heater system, and the entire building’s water supply needed to be shut off and drained for this small repair of the valve to be done.
John had just finished another emergency call before mine and after a bit of phone conversation on whether it could wait until the following morning (this was at 8:30pm on Saturday), he said it would be best to do it ASAP, and he arrived about 20 minutes later.
After shutting off the water to the building, turning off the complicated boiler system, waiting around 1.5 hours for all the water to drain from the building, he finished the 10-minute repair (and what would normally have been a 20-minute job in a single family residence) around 11:00 pm, all because of the way the condo was designed and constructed – which he knew how to navigate through.
Not only professional, courteous, and calm the entire time, he never showed any sign of irritation at having such a long waiting/dead time in between the actual arrival and the repair time and the lateness of the hour. He was one of the very few companies that I contacted that called back quickly and was able to come that same day instead of the following day.
His work will allow me to continue my demo work to locate my original problem, the hidden leak.
I could not recommend John enough. He was patient and knowledgeable, pointing out what he was doing and why and explained why he was doing some things he was doing, transparent all the time. As long as he is available, I will continue to call on him for any future plumbing issues I have, and John and his team have my highest respect and recommendation.

These guys are great. Friendly, helpful, know what they’re doing, and don’t rip you off. Highly recommend you use them. We had a leak emergency in our basement on a weekend. They calmly talked us through shutting the water off, then came out quickly and fixed it. They even patiently showed us how to avoid the same problem in the future.

While it doesn’t mention it on his web site, John is a licensed contractor. This makes all the difference. I have had unpleasant experiences with unlicensed “professionals”, and have learned my lesson.
John accurately diagnosed a tree root blockage in my storm drain. He offered a good price, so I called him back to do the work. He was very communicative, on-time, and courteous. He showed me where he had excavated, pinpointing the problem area and the tree responsible for the issue. He and his team worked quickly and left the job site clean.
I would call him again in a heartbeat.

Called John the plumber late on a Monday night. He provided free consulting and trouble shooting at first but once we diagnosed the problem, he gave me a fair quote for an emergency service call. He arrived with 30 mins of service confirmation and took another 5 mins to inspect and set up. Initially he had problems with the old house piping after 20 mins but was able to clear the main line blockage via toilet within 3 mins. I was very satisfied with the responsiveness, rapid, friendly and courteous service. Will recommend him to all of my friends. Price is on par with what it used to cost ~20 years ago when adjusted for inflation.
